South Main Church Directory

Well, I have been a little lazier with my blogging, horrible at returning phone calls, and even worse at cleaning house... This is why- for 6 weeks now I have been working on our church's directory. I have already done 201 family/ individual shots. My last day is this Sunday! Yipee!!!

Hail, No!

I totally stole my blog title from Shauna- it cracked me up!
These pictures were taken about 20 minutes before the storm. You will have to go read Robin & Shauna's accounts of it- much better than this. We live about a mile from each of them, up on a ridge & nothing much happened here. It looked crazy for a while & we had the talk about what we would do if we had to (tornado). But to Ethan's dismay- no tornado. We just sat at the table & ate our spaghetti while our friends' trees & windows were beaten up by the winds.
The sky looked awesome- it was turquoise!

This is the house across the street from us- I doctored this picture up a bit. I was going for the opening scene of Wizard of Oz look.

borderline amazing

My personal stylist (Lindsey) spent 2 days on me
and this is what she came up with...She bleached/ dyed my hair. (I am 31 & this was my first time to do either. I like the way it turned out- but I am not sure it is for me. It takes a long time!) She waxed my eyebrows (also my first time for that. Lindsey is awesome at it- I never knew when she was about to rip the wax. Very sneaky!) She took me to the store to buy all the right colors for my eyes.
No, I have not been hiding under a rock- but here is Lindsey's theory... We learn how to wear our make-up (we experiment) in High School. Grunge ruled my High School years. We Pearl Jam followers liked things very natural. Long hair, T-shirts & beads were more important to me than make-up. I also usually went for the cool Mountain chic -North Face -Gore Tex look. And that girl definitely does not waste her time on lip gloss.
I am excited to try this out for a while. I may have to wake up 10 min. earlier to apply-
that right there may make me revert to my old ways. We shall see.
Thanks for everything, Lindsey! You are a miracle worker. I had so much fun!
Lily loved playing hookey & messing up your house with Ben & Layla.

HaPPY BiRTHDaY- BeauTY QueeN!

Happy 75th Birthday, Libby!Dearest Gramma-
I thought this was better than mailing a card. Hopefully- you still check in on my blog.
I love this picture of you. It has been sitting out in my house since I stole it from you 11 or 12 years ago. It is very "Libby"- outside-loving the sun.
Other things I love about Sarah Elizabeth-
*the fact that you wore a Pocahontas suit to Thanksgiving.
*you are a poet.
*You are an awesome cook- no recipes required. Who needs 'em?
*you always make time to talk with my kids (outside on your swing).
*you give me things that are precious to you because you know how I treasure them.
*you have the sweetest southern accent courtesy of North Carolina.
*you love your family!!!
I hope that you had a wonderful birthday! We love you too much!

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

Ethan read these verses as part of our worship service this morning... in front of the WHOLE church. He was awesome! He did such a great job! No way could I have done that at 10 years old. He has no fear of public speaking. I was nervous enough for both of us, I guess.
